About Hathor
Hathor Hamstery was started in July of 2017 after receiving our foundation hamsters from Strong Brew Hamstery. During the time when I was actively breeding, I worked closely with SBH and we often shared hamsters to breed and produce friendly, healthy pups as an ethical alternative to pet store hamsters. Pet store hamsters are often supplied by rodent mills. These facilities often keep hundreds of animals just for the purpose of creating a ton of pups to sell without considering genetics, health, temperament, or quality.
Hathor Hamstery is an ethical hamstery. I breed with science and animal welfare in mind. With a B.Sc. in animal biology and an M.Sc. in animal nutrition, I am able to put my knowledge to use while breeding. I focus on health and temperament of my hamsters while providing everything to maintain good animal welfare by following the code of ethics. Hamsters are housed in bin cages with lots of bedding, enrichment items, proper sized wheels, clean bottles, and nutritionally balanced feed. I have been researching hamster care for two years and have no plans to stop!
Now that I'm on a hiatus from breeding, I hope to use what I have learned to educate hamster owners worldwide on ethical hamster husbandry, care, and genetics!
Hathor Hamstery is a proud member of the Ontario Hamster Club and is part of the registered breeders list. If you're looking for a hamster to adopt, we definitely recommend Strong Brew Hamstery and Mustachio Hamstery. If you're not located in Canada, we also highly recommend other ethical breeders that can be found on our links page!
