If you are interested in adopting a hamster from Hathor Hamstery, there are a few things you should know!
- Our hamsters are housed in bins that exceed the minimum habitat size. Hamsters are animals that like to run around and burrow, and cages sold by the pet store are much too small.
- Our hamsters are never overbred, and are never bred if any health issues arise with them. Females will be bred a maximum of two times, and males are retired when appropriate.
- Our hamster pups are hand-raised from the time they have their eyes open so that they are used to being handled and kissed. We never bother the mother and her litter before they open their eyes at 14 days old.
- We know everything about the genetics of our hamsters, we can tell you their coat colours and what genes they carry - or don't!
- We are not breeding to produce tons of hamsters or make a profit. We are breeding to provide the pet industry with ethically bred and healthy Syrian hamsters.
- The Ontario Veterinary College is steps away, which means the hamsters get the best care when they are sick! We also have fast access to Campus Estates Animal Hospital, a 24 hour emergency hospital located here in Guelph.
- Your hamster pup will come with a pedigree printed on cardstock, so you can frame and display it!
